After standout performances against Southern Illinois, tight end Austin Bray and defensive end Ebony Curry Jr. earned Penguin Nation Player of the Week Honors.
Bray tallied five receptions for 78 yards, hauling in a 20-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter that helped YSU extend its lead to 11 points. A fifth-year senior out of Venice, Florida, his length at 6-foot-5 makes him a legitimate receiving threat in an explosive YSU offense.
Senior defensive lineman Ebony Curry Jr. recorded a career-best seven tackles, highlighted by two sacks and one forced fumble. Curry’s quick explosion off the edge gave SIU’s offensive tackles serious problems and the Penguins were able to pepper DJ Williams throughout the game.
Congrats to Austin and Ebony on winning these awards!
